You might have heard the phrase “ACM panels” before, and you might have a decent idea as to what they are. However, do you know what are ACM panels are used for?

We’re going to answer that question and more below, getting into the specifics of ACM panels and everything that they entail.

What’s the Purpose of ACM Panels?

Also called aluminum composite panels, ACM panels are used to cover the exteriors of buildings and signs. Though they’re most commonly seen on commercial properties, they are sometimes used on modern residential properties as well.

ACM panels are available in a wide variety of colors — from black, to silver, to blue, to yellow, and everything in between. The overall purpose of ACM panels? To provide structures with protection, insulation, and enhanced aesthetics.

The Properties of ACM Panels

Now that we’ve discussed the purpose of ACM panels, you might be interested in learning a bit about their properties. These panels possess two aluminum sides, each of which is coil-coated and designed to look sleek.

In between these two sides is a thin core of non-aluminum material. This material is generally synthetic in nature, and it serves to provide both insulation and strength.

How Can You Benefit from ACM Panels?

ACM panels come with a variety of different benefits. We’ll discuss the most prominent of these benefits below.

Enhance the Aesthetic of Your Property

Perhaps the biggest benefit of ACM panels is that they can drastically improve the aesthetic of a property. These panels lay flush against the exteriors of their respective buildings, offering a smooth, sleek appearance that can’t be mimicked by any other siding material.

Whether you’re using them to adorn an entire building, or you’re only using them as a supplement, they can go a long way in improving the appearance of your property. Available in a number of different colors and styles, there’s sure to be one that accommodates your business’ brand and identity.

Keep Maintenance to a Minimum

Every siding material requires maintenance of some kind. That said, ACM panels require very little maintenance. Generally speaking, these panels can be upkept with a simple wipe of a rag. You can simply give them a scrub every few months and you’ll be good to go.

This is much less intensive than the maintenance needed in other siding materials, some of which require regular repairs and sealing. As a result, by using ACM panels, you’ll end up saving both time and money.

Reduce the Number of Siding Replacements

Simply put, ACM panels are exceedingly durable. Not only are they built to resist corrosion and physical trauma, but they avoid staining or color fading as well. As such, they very rarely need to be replaced.

Depending on whom you purchase your panels from, they could very well be backed by warranty. In some cases, these warranties can last as long as 30 years. Note, though, that most ACM panels have the ability to far outlive this figure, sometimes as much as doubling it.

Fire Resistance

Another benefit of ACM panels is their resistance to fire. Unlike some other siding materials, ACM panels can’t burn. Although they can melt, in order to do so, they must be exposed to temperatures of over 600ºF for extended periods of time.
